Please have patience with me.

I am a total beginner at cyber security.

I have a simple question:

I look at my wireshark and I notice even when I am doing nothing, i.e. Browser not open, I see my computer communicating(sending and receiving packets) to various google sites, like clients.l.google, tools.l.google, etc.

Is this normal? Or is my computer infected, and is a hacker using google sites to transmite/receive data from my infected computer?

Thank you for any informed response!

Please read the Instructions and post the requested logs (MBAM, DDS, Security Check) in the Malware Removal section. We need the information in order to answer your question.

Various auto-updaters will be contacting the web to check for updates.  Your email client will be checking for mail.  Beyond that we can't say anything without seeing the requested logs.
