Many problems have been encountered by others and by myself with Avast 2014 2014.9.2006 - http://forum.avast.c...1031#msg1001031
Perhaps the most important is that on my Windows 7 64-bit, updating its database appeared to work but actually failed with "unknown error".
If you uninstall Avast revision 2014.9.2006, go to avast! 2014: Installing avast! Free Antivirus, and then use the avast_free_antivirus_setup_online.exe installer, you will get 2014.9.2007, which seems to work much better.

Avast posted that just yesterday. :)
The Avast I downloaded says it is up to date with 2014.9.2007.
Important: If you have Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro (MBAM) with the protection module enabled, do this after installation but before reboot:
- Bring up MBAM.
- Open the 'Ignore List' tab.
- Click the 'Add' button.
- Find the Avast folder in the browse window and click OK. Then click Exit.
- Reboot.

Fed up with Avast Support center.
No help on my many unsolved problems with Avast 2014 and the supposed " Grime fighter "
No reply after many messages to Albert Fiala.
I want the full refund of my subscription which I was cornered to take when I was trying " Grime Fighter " as my subscription was still valid until the end of May 2014.
Avast is really getting dowm with such dubious ads coming to your desktop, like " 2 people at NSA are watching you!"
Once again and for the last time, I want to be refunded and I completely deleted Avast from my puter, when I was a client for more thatn 5 years.
