With all respect and appreciation to those who spent good and selfless time and effort in developing these programs; I'm asking if there is  any compeling reason to upgrade to version 2.2. I am currentlly running v 1.6.2. Additionally; is SpywareGuard and SpywareBlaster still effective and relevent?

I've been running these programs, which were recomended by this site, for years. Thank you.

I can't comment on Spybot Search and Destroy, as I switched to Malwarebytes Anti-Malware a long time ago, but I still use SpywareBlaster on all my systems. It's updated monthly, and works with multiple browsers.

With all due respect, I will ask this question one last time -  is Spy Bot S&D still relevant. I currenty have running, real time, Malewarebytes (paid), Eset Smart Security and Spyware Blaster. Any CPU overhead that can be prudently eliminated is a good thing.Thank you.

If you are running the paid version of MBAM with real time protection, I would disable Spybot Search & Destroy and only use it as an on-demand scanner as it's providing essentially the same type of protection as MBAM.
