Ad-buying big boys Google, Amazon, Microsoft and the content marketing platform Taboola have quietly ponied up the money to keep their ads from being blocked on Adblock Plus, the world's most popular software for blocking online advertising.

Read the entire article here:

To Block :"non-obtrusive" ads, see this page:

But I hate all ads!

The first thing I do is go in and disable the option to allow "non-obtrusive" ads.

I have been using uBlock for a while now, lighter on resources and makes me feel better after reading this a few days ago.

Interesting. Is there a version of that as an Add-on for Firefox, or just for Chrome?

'Had no luck locating a "uBlock" at the Mozilla site: https://addons.mozilla.org/

'Looks promising: https://github.com/g...uBlock/releases, but I'd like to see him run it through the review process for add-ons at Mozilla and see how he makes out. If he went through all the trouble to create it, why not?

Adblock Plus has had the option to allow unobtrusive ads for a while. The only issue is that you have to opt out, as you are opted in by default.
