Not sure if you deal with Tablets on this forum, and/or if I am posting in theright place.

My partner purchased a cheap tablet from a popular auction site, to take with uswhen we go away in our Motor Home.
I have been using it for the last few weeks, while my laptop has had problems. All has been fine until I turned it on yesterday and I had the word DEMO in large letters across the screen! It is a bit difficult using it with this *grins*.
I had a quick Google and found it was a common problem but not sure which advice to take.
I dont really want to go back to factory setting asI presume it will wipe everything else too?

I think its a Polaris GA10H Android version 4.2.2

It seems it may be malware related, not the first time Chinese android device has come preinstalled with malware:

And apparently a reset does nothing to fix the problem:

 

You said you had only been using it for a few weeks, my advice would be to return it for refund (not replacement) if possible.

If you keep it, I would not trust it to contain any sensitive information, pay any bills with it, log in to any Internet site if you reuse passwords, etc.
