Tried the Lavasoft forums site tonight and found out that the domain had expired. As Adaware and such are so much in the news I find this quite amazing. This is where I ended up:

I removed link to evil site www.expireddomain.us/expire.php?domain=LAVASOFTSUPPORT.COM, which tries to install Precision Time malware. See http://www.pchell.co...isiontime.shtml

Was posting that link an accident, or not?
Lavasoft forum is fine:
Edit: nope, really is expired. Don't try to go to www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php
You'll get the Gator drive-by.

Michael Wood owns it (Coldmoon on their board). I tried to call him but apparently he's in Sweden.

I have the domain on backorder just in case they don't catch it in time. If it ends up in my hands I'll fix the DNS so it points to their board again and transfer it back to them as soon as I can get in touch with someone there.

I swear, Lavasoft has pulled some true boners in their time, but I think this takes the cake.

Thanks for the info re: the link, no wonder Adaware/McAfee etc. went berserk after I clicked that link.

I think Mike's backorder fixed it - the link recovered for me right after Mike put in the backorder. (It cost Mike $30 to do that nice thing).

That's because your ISP's dns (Domain Name Server) hasn't updated yet, as I understand it.

I think they caught it. I just got a domain alert from Godaddy showing it's been renewed for a year and the DNS is pointing at the right servers now. It should start working normally again soon for everyone.

http://www.lavasoft....efault.shtml.en,
clicked on support forums, which tries to open
http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/
Get Page cannot be displayed cannot find server or DNS error.
Anything I can do to fix this?
ISP is Tiscali UK, should I contact them, or what?

First try this.
Start->Run, enter cmd to open a DOS window.
Then in the DOS window, enter ipconfig /flushdns
That will clear out any old stale stored IP addresses you may be using.

Then open a new browser and go to http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/

I tried that already as I am also getting DNS errors/timeouts etc. I called my ISP and we went through lots of "fixes" which didn't work. (He could get the page fine) I could only reach it using www.proxify.com ?? Anyway, as I had other issues I have just formatted the HDD and reinstalled Windows...still the same result.

That makes it sound as though the problem lies on a particular server between you and your ISP.
Open a DOS window and run tracert www.lavasoftsupport.com

To copy the result here, right-click in the DOS window, select Mark. Use the left mouse button to mark the text to copy, hit Enter to put it into the clipboard.
