There are lots of Antiviruses out there. The question is what AV do you recommend and use?

I use Symantec Corporate. Same detections as Norton, but WAAAAYY less of a resource hog.

The main anitivirus program I use and recommend is NOD32 from Eset. A free trial version can be downloaded from www.nod32.com .

Yes I noticed that post, but it's not my habit to do this.
There are too many members LOL.
I did it because
- your post was the last one
- you use the same AV
- I remembered your birthday
That's why I took the opportunity to congrat you.

AVG is probably the weakest of the leading 'free' AVs, in terms of it's detection rate, it is regularly outperformed by AntiVir and Avast. I daresay there may be other reasons to recommend it, but it is far from being a top performer.

If you want a really big hitter then Kaspersky is the one to get. Though the latest versions of McAfee are also very strong.

I can't recommend Symantec products, although they perform well when working, they are too unreliable. Norton 'Live Update' is somewhat unstable and causes endless problems to some (though certainly not all!) users. Norton's technical support is notoriously bad - when things go wrong it can be hell getting them right again.
