This computer would be great if my kids didn't use it. I have cleaned it up in the past and rid it of viruses; but it's acting up again. Not badly, but I am concerned.

The main problem is that AOL Instant Messenger is opening spontaneously, and there is nothing we seem to be able to do about it. Other than that, we still get pop ups. I have scanned the computer for spyware with Ad-Aware, Spybot, and Microsoft Antispyware. I think we are relatively clean with that stuff...for the next few days.

Anti-virus is out of date. I know we need to renew, but I hesitate to get Norton, because they don't service well. Any recommendations that are a good value? I have been considering Panda. We have two PCs at home. Do we need to buy two licenses? (I think yes, but I am double checking. One is better...or at least less expensive. )

Anyway...what should we do to see if there are demons inside? Any help appreciated.
