I use network associates mcafee anti-virus. Iv been using this same one for at least a year in a half. The newest version of this anti-virus is 9.0. My anti-virus updates but how do I know if its just the defintions updating? Because ill probably need to find a free anti-virus with an updated engine if this isnt being updated. So How do I tell what version I have of this anti-virus?

From http://us.mcafee.com support:

If you want to know if your VirusScan is current, you need to verify the versions number of the DATs and Engine in addition to the product version alone. These details are listed together with the software version information. To bring up this screen, point to the McAfee product icon in the task bar at the bottom of your screen, right-click and choose ''About''.

You might also want to check out McAfee's product life cycle.
