I upgraded my computer on sunday and ever since then any of the games that i try to play are going EXTREMELY slow, even CS 1.6. This confuses me to hell and back because i have 2gigs of ram, 3.06ghz intel celeron D processor, Nvidia Geforce 6600 LE, 500 watt power supply, and a Giga-Byte GA-8I915ME-GL motherboard. I have Windows XP Home Edition SP 2.

PLEASE HELP!

Hi,

You upgraded your computer recently.

What did you do exactly?

Nothing suspicious found in your log.

I suspect that you do not have the proper drivers for your programs.

I upgraded my power supply, video card, motherboard, processor, and ram.

The only things that I still have in my computer from my old computer is the hard drive, cd drive, floppy drive, and case.

These are the new parts in my computer:

Read this article.
Command-Line Switches for the Registry Checker Tool
http://support.micro...om/?kbid=184023

execute scanreg.exe /fix (note there is a space after .exe)

Let me know how things are running.

I tried reinstalling it and it didn't help at all.

I noticed last night when i was redoing the windows automatic updates, one of the updates didn't work and i had to cancel that update. Maybe that's the problem :/

When Windows Update is a problem, I use the following to re-register the file.

Start, Run, type in cmd, press enter

At the DOS prompt execute the following commands, one by one.
Press the enter key after each entry

regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 msxml3.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 atl.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll

Type Exit press enter to return the operating mode.

Reboot normally.

I did reinstall windows last night and it did help with some games, and then i noticed something. One of the games i play gives the option to use opengl or direct3d, it runs perfectly with opengl but when i run it with direct3d it runs terrible again.

I fear that directx may be the problem :(
I have directx end-user runtime (december 2005)
