Are there any free Anti-Virus software out there like AVG and Avast used to be? Or does anyone know if they are still free. They have just updated there programs and I cant figure out if they still offer free home user usage of their protection.

I strongly dislike Norton products , what would you recommend. sorry if there is another post offering this info, but things have been changed.

I found out Avast is still free , you just need to register to unlock the 60 day trial.

AVG Free Edition is working just fine for me.

Where does it say that the licenses have expired?

Last I knew, they both were still free, but the licenses need to be renewed annually.

I believe Jan 15, 2007 was the last update for AVG 7.1. You can simply download the new, free version of AVG 7.5 from here.
